i don't know exactly the date, the information was from one of my philosophy teacher's anecdote in our class about ethic (he is an admirer of both Leibniz and Spinoza btw), he probably got this information from this book https://www.amazon.fr/Spinoza-Leibniz-Rencontres-controverses-r%C3%A9ceptions/dp/2840509431 . you will probably say that the source is not enough suffisent since you can't verify the information so i will ask you to adopt a fiabilist epistemological behavior (he have absolutely not any interest to lie or invent this + lie is rarer than truth telling due to basic anthropological need) or at least beleiveling in epistemological virtue theory (his social position is a field where a certain intellectual rigor and honesty tend to be cultivated) .

Leibniz was not honorable at all, he met Spinoza in person and did not openly disagree with his philosophical though in person, but after made a whole book of metaphysic writed against the ethic of Spinoza based on it and answered that he was not inspired at all by it and that he despised this work, despite the fact that his monade theory is greatly inspired from Spinoza's monism. so he can't be 2nd will
